The Beano will feature cartoon versions of stars including Alesha Dixon and double Brit winners JLS in a special edition for Sport Relief. They will appear in strips in the Beano’s monthly edition, BeanoMAX, along with England cricketer Stuart Broad and Manchester United striker Michael Owen.
The comic’s special guests take on some of the Beano’s best-known characters in a series of Sport Relief challenges, including JLS in a battle of the bands against Dennis the Menace and his Dinmakers.
Dixon becomes best pals with Minnie the Minx, Broad plays cricket with Roger the Dodger and Michael Owen gets a football masterclass from the Bash Street Kids.
BeanoMAX, which also includes a 32-page insert dedicated to Sport Relief, goes on sale today.
Sport Relief, which launched in 2002, returns for a weekend of fundraising activity on 19 March, including a night of television programmes on BBC1.
